About Us

Welcome to Insure Hawke’s Bay, a Member Broker of Insurance Advisernet NZ.

Established in 2018, we are Hawke’s Bay’s newest Insurance Broking company, striving to bring a fresh approach and local flavour to an industry otherwise dominated by multi-national corporations. Being Hawke’s Bay boys, we understand what it is to represent The Bay and its’ people. Our methodology is to support local business, use local suppliers, and to help our fantastic region to grow and prosper.

We also want to put some fun into what is sometimes seen as a grudge purchase or an unappealing business transaction!

With over 20 years’ experience within the insurance industry, working both as an underwriter and broker, I have developed a deep understanding of insurance products, their application, and most of all, how to get the best out of your insurance policies should a claim occur.

Having held senior positions within the industry, I recently decided to take the plunge, back myself, and build my own business.

I’m Hawke’s Bay born and bred, married to Belinda with three beautiful daughters who I’m immensely proud of.

I’ve been involved in local theatre for over 30 years, having performed lead roles for Napier Operatic Society on many occasions. With my performing days almost behind me, you’ll most likely find me volunteering backstage or wherever else I’m needed.

To me, insurance is all about people. In a time where many companies are focusing on centralisation or internet sales, I believe it is so important that I can visit my customers at their place of business. Only then can I fully understand what it is they do, what their goals are & how I can help with an insurance programme that meets their needs. Now more than ever, it is vital that customers receive professional advice & fully understand what their insurance will, and will not do in the event of a catastrophe.

I have over fourteen years’ experience as an insurance broker and have a passion for achieving the best results for my clients. Whether it is negotiating competitive premiums or assisting with the claims process, I am willing to do what it takes to ensure my clients receive the very best level of service.

I am happily married to my wonderful wife Ange and am the proud father of four (yes four) gorgeous daughters. I have represented Hawke’s Bay in badminton for over thirty years and enjoy spending family Summers at Pourerere Beach fishing, swimming, surfing and relaxing over a couple of quiets.

At Insure Hawke’s Bay we believe the true test of the relationship with your Insurance Broker is when you need to make a claim. We know it can be a stressful and unsettling time, so we’re committed to providing you with fast, efficient and personalised claims services.

Claims Process

Making a claim can be a daunting task, especially as it typically occurs at an already difficult time. With this in mind we see it as one of the most important times in our relationship with you. We’ll do everything we can to make the process as smooth and easy as possible.

This includes

Providing you with your Insurer’s Claim Form
Arranging for a Loss Assessor to be appointed if necessary
Guiding you carefully through to completion of Claim Form
Submitting your Claim Form to the Insurer on your behalf
Providing ongoing advice to ensure a fair and reasonable settlement.

Lodging a claim

Step 1. Contact us so we can discuss what’s happened and carefully review the event/s against your insurance cover.
Step 2. We’ll send you the relevant claim form/s and outline any other documentation your Insurer is likely to require.
Step 3. Fill out your claim form in as much detail as you can. (Remember, if you have any questions we’re always here to help!)
Step 4. Post or email your completed claim form back to us so we can check everything and then forward it to the Insurer on your behalf.
